Sonia Holdaway, MS, LPC Intern
Nationally Certified Counselor
As your counselor, I will meet you right where you are and provide a safe space to explore your relationship with yourself and others, figure out what you would like to be different, and feel empowered to address what is getting in the way of reaching your goals. In a society that prizes individual strength, it can be hard to open up about our biggest challenges or our most sensitive past hurts with others. Your therapist should be someone with whom you feel comfortable doing this hard work, and who genuinely cares about you and wants to help you succeed. My goal is to help you feel accepted and supported when talking about the issues that are closest to your heart.
I love helping my clients reconnect with a sense of inner strength and direction as we work with emotions, thoughts and behaviors. You can learn more about my specific therapeutic approach by visiting the individual or couples counseling pages. In general, I find that each client and couple brings different problems into the room to work on, but that each of you will also bring your own beautiful strengths, which we can use to help propel you towards genuine satisfaction in your life. In our work together, I will bring a calm presence and an open heart to help you hold the burdens that you are carrying. I offer no judgment, and I believe no issue is too small or too embarrassing to bring to counseling. I welcome all forms of relationships and identities, and particularly enjoy working with fellow members of the LGBTQ community.
It is important to choose a therapist that feels right for you, because counseling works best when the client-counselor relationship is a good fit.
